Foreign Languages

Although CSM does not offer a full range of foreign language study, The Division of Liberal Arts and International Studies does have a modest array of foreign language courses, primarily at the beginning levels. Advanced students should see the Undergraduate Advisor for their options. Incoming students should enroll in the courses which most closely matches their language skill level. Placement tests are also available, but currently there are no tests-for-credit. Students may not take a “foreign” language in his/her native or second language.

Student may also gain foreign language credit in Studies Abroad settings.

Regularly offered foreign language courses include Spanish, German and Arabic. Portuguese and Japanese are offered alternating years, and on occasion we offer additional languages such as Chinese.
